Your Body Is the Key to Consistent Breakthroughs (Not Your Mind)

We’ve been sold a lie.

That if we just think differently, reframe harder, journal more, or mindset our way through resistance… the breakthrough will come.

It won’t.

Real, lasting breakthroughs don’t happen through cognitive control.

They happen through the body.

Gabor Maté, physician turned trauma expert, has made a bold claim: upwards of 90% of disease is rooted in unhealed trauma. And here’s the part most people miss—

you don’t need to identify as having trauma for your nervous system to be shaped by it.

From a neuroscience perspective, too much or not enough of something safety, support, attunement, rest creates the same brain and body changes we see in trauma.

And because the body keeps the score, talk therapy alone isn’t enough.

Mindset work without somatic regulation is unsustainable.

Wherever a person feels “stuck” in life money, health, relationships, capacity that block almost always maps back to a moment where the system was overwhelmed or under-resourced.

That’s not a mindset problem.

That’s a nervous system problem.

This is where somatic healing comes in.

Practices like trauma spotting allow the body to release what it’s been holding without forcing insight, bypassing sensation, or trying to “figure it out.” And here’s the paradox:
