That knot in your stomach is trying to talk to you.
But here’s the million-dollar question:
Is it unhealed trauma… or God’s discernment?
Most of us were never taught how to tell the difference. Some voices will tell you, “If it feels uncomfortable, don’t do it.” Others will say, “Just push through it, ignore it, suppress it.”
Both extremes miss the truth.
Because not every flutter, ache, or knot in your body means what your brain thinks it means.
The Trap of Misreading Sensations
I used to be completely shut down by the signals in my body.
Every time discomfort arose, my instinct was to run. To retreat. To assume “this must mean danger.”
But here’s what I discovered: when you stop running and instead learn to sit with those sensations, they often dissipate and what remains is wisdom.
The body isn’t trying to sabotage you.
It’s trying to guide you.
The Secret of Trauma Spotting
This is where trauma spotting changed everything for me.
Instead of labeling every sensation as a red flag, I learned to pause and listen. To feel through the body’s language. And suddenly, I could tell when the knot was unhealed trauma trying to keep me “safe”… and when it was actually God’s discernment pointing me in a new direction.
Here’s the kicker:
When you learn this skill, the body becomes a compass.
It shows you how, when, and where to pivot.
It offers clarity, peace, and even confirmation even if the answer is still “no.”
Why Somatic Discernment Matters
Without somatic discernment, you’re left second-guessing everything:
👉 Am I avoiding this because of fear… or is this God closing a door?
👉 Is my body signaling danger… or just old trauma replaying itself?
👉 Should I stay… or should I go?
The truth is, God often speaks through the body. But if you don’t know how to translate it, you miss the guidance.
