If you’re constantly dissecting the details of your life—“He did this… She said that… I need this… I’m missing that”you’re stuck. And stuck feels familiar because it’s where most trauma lives.
Hi, I’m Rebecca, a trauma healer. Today, I want to share a quick, powerful insight for coaches, therapists, and spiritual leaders: focusing on details keeps you trapped.
Think of trauma like a thermometer:
Base level: external experiences, people, places, things
Next level: the program the theme, belief system, pattern—that drives those details.
Next level: the program the theme, belief system, pattern that drives those detailsIf we only stay in the base level, we get lost in the weeds. To break the loop, we have to move up to the pattern. But here’s the kicker you can’t find it with the mind alone. You have to get into the body.
As a coach or healer, your role is to stay present in your own body. When you guide someone to sit in their sensation—without judgment, in stillness—the body begins to reveal what the mind cannot: the themes, patterns, and old experiences that created stuck loops.
You’ll know you’re on the right path when memories or emotions surface that didn’t seem connected yet suddenly make sense. Sit in stillness. Watch with gratitude. Allow the body to release the powerful emotion that keeps the loop alive. Cognitive control won’t cut it; the subconscious drives 90% of our life. When the body lets go, the nervous system repatterns, regulation becomes sustainable, and growth happens naturally.
